Turkey Meatballs in Marinara
11/2 pounds ground turkey
11/4 cups Italian bread crumbs Progresso®
1⁄4 cup minced onion
1 teaspoon bottled minced garlic McCormick®
1⁄4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 egg lightly beaten
ground black pepper
1 jar (26 ounces) marinara sauce Prego®
2 cans (14.5ounces each) diced tomatoes with basil, garlic,and oregano Hunt’s®,
2 teaspoons dried basil McCormick®
In a medium bowl, combine ground turkey, bread crumbs, onion, garlic, parsley, egg, and salt and pepper. With your hands, blend ingredients together and form approximately thirty 1-inch meatballs. Set aside.
In a bowl combine marinara sauce, tomatoes, and basil. Pour half of sauce into a 4- to 5-quart slow cooker. Add meatballs and top with remaining sauce. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 8 to 9 hours or high-heat setting for 3 to 4 hours.
