Makes: 4 servings

  • 20 ounces lean hot Italian turkey sausage, casings removed

  • 1 jar (26 ounces) tomato-basil pasta sauce

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1⁄4 teaspoon salt

  • 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper

  • 1 container (9 ounces) refrigerated fresh linguine

  • Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Bring a large pot of water to a boil for pasta.

Meanwhile, in a large nonstick skillet, cook sausage over medium-high heat for 8 to 10 minutes, or until browned and crumbly. Stir in pasta sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add pasta to boiling water and cook to al dente according to package directions. Drain and add to sausage sauce, tossing to coat. Serve garnished with fresh basil, if desired.
