Sea Glass Candy
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
2/3 cup light corn syrup
Blue food coloring omit for clear glass
1/2 teaspoon candy flavoring oil peppermint, chocolate, lemon
Coat a parchment-lined baking sheet with cooking spray.
Ina saucepan, bring sugar, water, and corn syrup to a boil over medium-high heat. When sugar mixture begins to simmer, attach a candy thermometer and bring syrup to 250°F without stirring. Add food coloring without stirring (the bubbles will distribute it).
Continue simmering to 300°F. Working quickly and carefully, remove from heat and stir in flavoring. Pour onto prepared pan and cool completely.
Brush with powdered sugar to give a matte finish. Cover with parchment paper and break into shards with a mallet.
