DOUGHNUTS

  • Cooking spray

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup apple cider

  • 1/4 cup buttermilk

  • 2 tablespoons butter melted

  • 2 eggs

GLAZE

  • 1/4 cup Bulleit® bourbon

  • 1/4 cup Honey

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

For Doughnuts

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly coat two 6-cavity doughnut pans with cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together cider, buttermilk, melted butter, and eggs. Stir wet ingredients into flour mixture until it comes together in a thick batter. Take care not to overmix. Scrape batter into a zip-top plastic bag. Snip one corner and pipe into prepared doughnut pan. Batter should come three-fourths of the way up the sides.

  3. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until a pick inserted in doughnut side comes out clean and doughnut springs back when lightly pressed. Cool in pan for 5 minutes, remove, and cool completely.

For Glaze

  1. In a small saucepan, combine bourbon with honey and heat over low until honey is dissolved. Pour glaze into a bowl. In a separate bowl, stir together sugar and cinnamon and pour onto a shallow plate.

  2. Dip a doughnut into glaze, flipping to coat, then into cinnamon sugar mixture. Repeat with remaining doughnuts and serve.
