Hot Buttered Rum

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup butter softened

  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1 container natural apple cider 64-ounce

  • 2 cups dark rum Bacardi® Select®

  • Garnish: cinnamon sticks

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a small bowl, combine butter, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Place in the middle of a 12x12-inch piece of plastic wrap. Fold plastic wrap over butter mixture, and shape into a log, twisting ends to seal. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. In a large saucepan, heat cider over medium heat just until bubbles appear (do not boil). Remove from heat. Remove spiced butter from plastic wrap, and cut into 1-inch pieces. Add to hot cider, stirring to combine.

  3. Ladle cider into mugs; top each with 1/4 cup rum. Garnish with cinnamon sticks, if desired.
